On 19 April 2018, His Majesty, King Mswati III turned 50. His fiftieth birthday year coincides with the country's 50 years of colonial independence which falls on 6 September. 

Because of this, the double celebration, known as the 50/50 celebrations was held on his birthday on 19 April in the country's hub, Manzini.
